How the Placement Process Works
- Employer consultation: NYCIconsult reviews the position, schedule, specialty expectations, onboarding resources, compensation range, and required credentials.
- Candidate evaluation: We review résumés, education, clinical experience, competencies, references, BLS certification, SPI status, specialty registries, work authorization, location, and availability.
- Authorized presentation: Qualified candidates are presented only with their permission and under a written employer recruitment agreement.
- Interview and selection: The employer retains complete responsibility for interviews, background checks, credential verification, and hiring decisions.
- Successful placement: The recruitment fee becomes payable according to the employer agreement after the selected candidate begins employment.
For New Sonography Graduates
Qualified graduates may submit their professional information for confidential consideration. NYCIconsult does not charge candidates a placement fee and does not guarantee employment. Participation does not replace the graduate’s responsibility to maintain credentials, prepare for interviews, apply independently, and meet each employer’s requirements.

Current NYC-Metro Sonographer Job Market
The New York City metropolitan market continues to show active demand for general, OB/GYN, vascular, breast, pediatric, and cardiac sonographers. Current hospital advertisements reviewed on August 19, 2026 included full-time, part-time, per-diem, evening, night, and float opportunities. Published compensation examples ranged from approximately $45 to $85 per hour, depending on employer, specialty, credentials, experience, schedule, and union or contractual terms.
New-graduate strategy: Apply even when a listing says experience is preferred, but do not misrepresent your background.
