This NYCIconsult directory brings together major publicly announced conferences in diagnostic medical sonography, ultrasound medicine, vascular and cardiovascular imaging, radiology, medical radiation technology, imaging informatics and artificial intelligence across the United States and Canada.
Conference dates, locations, registration availability and program details may change. Always confirm current information directly with the official organizer before making travel or payment arrangements.
Scholarships, Travel Grants and Conference Sponsorship
Do not assume that you must pay every conference expense yourself. Several organizations in this directory offer scholarships, educational grants, travel awards, discounted student registration or employer-support resources. Funding is competitive, commonly requires membership, and often closes months before the conference.
Attendee Scholarships and Travel Grants
- SDMS Foundation: The Educational Grant Program assists eligible SDMS members attending the Annual Conference. The published grant amounts are $600 for sonographers and $300 for students. The 2026 application cycle is closed and is expected to reopen in 2027. Recipients must register, attend and meet the required SDMS CME-credit conditions. Review SDMS Educational Grant requirements.
- ASE Foundation: ASE offers multiple scholarships and travel grants for cardiovascular sonographers, students, fellows, early-career practitioners and researchers attending Scientific Sessions. Eligibility and award amounts vary by program. Explore ASE awards and travel grants.
- Society for Vascular Ultrasound Foundation: SVU traditionally awards four eligible technologist or sonographer members a $500 educational grant to help with conference registration, lodging or travel. Application cycles and deadlines change annually. Review SVU grants and scholarships.
- ASRT Foundation: Eligible ASRT members may apply for travel awards that can provide as much as $4,000 toward conference registration, economy airfare, lodging and related expenses. Credential, membership and residency requirements apply. Review ASRT Foundation travel funding.
- RSNA: RSNA offers a Medical Student Travel Scholarship and multiple research and education grants. The travel scholarship is designed for eligible full-time medical students interested in radiology; it is not a general sonographer travel award. Explore RSNA awards and recognition.
- AIUM: AIUM has previously offered continuing-education support for eligible ultrasound professionals. Availability changes by cycle, so applicants should monitor official announcements rather than assume that a current award is open. Monitor AIUM learning and funding announcements.
- Sonography Canada: SonoCon provides reduced member registration, virtual-participation options and negotiated airline or hotel discounts. Its conference resources also help attendees request professional-development funding from employers. Review SonoCon attendance and travel information.
- CAMRT Foundation: CAMRT offers educational grants for eligible members, but its current education-grant rules exclude conference attendance, travel, lodging and living expenses. Applicants should verify whether another CAMRT award fits their situation. Review current CAMRT opportunities.
How to Improve Your Chances of Receiving Funding
- Join the relevant professional organization before the application opens.
- Check deadlines six to nine months before the conference.
- Prepare a concise statement explaining financial need and professional goals.
- Describe how attendance will improve patient care, teaching, clinical practice or workforce development.
- Maintain an updated résumé, professional credentials and membership number.
- Ask your employer or educational institution to provide partial support or a recommendation letter.
- Apply for student, early-career, speaker, abstract-presenter and volunteer opportunities when eligible.
Corporate Sponsorship and Exhibiting
Conference sponsorship is different from an attendee scholarship. It allows companies, schools, recruiters, imaging practices and technology vendors to pay for exhibit space, advertising, educational-session visibility or recruitment opportunities. Major organizations such as SDMS, SonoCon, AIUM, RSNA, ASE, SVU, ASRT, SIIM, CAR and CAMRT commonly offer exhibitor or partnership packages.
NYCIconsult and other imaging organizations may consider exhibiting, proposing an educational presentation, collaborating with an equipment manufacturer or requesting independent sponsorship for an educator to attend. Purchasing a sponsorship package does not mean that the conference organization will fund the sponsor.
Before applying: Confirm the current deadline, membership requirement, eligible expenses, reimbursement method and whether the award is paid before or after attendance. Never make nonrefundable travel arrangements based only on an expected grant.
